Every year I try to grow something new.  This year - Millenium Asparagus.

The apple (butter) tree at my parent’s place is looking promising!

I’m too embarrassed to post photos of the dying patch of sod that separates our front yard from the neighbours, so instead here’s a photo of the dwarf cedars spruces (thanks karlis) that will be replacing it.

The clean up phase of our backyard overhaul was completed in record time.  We could have done more, but sat in the sun and watched the dog chase birds instead.  Excellent afternoon.

This afternoon we went down to the store and grabbed some wood to make another raised bed.  With Lux’s help, we got the last one together in record time.  There is still a giant pile of dirt on the front boulevard that I’ll have to deal with, but I think we’re calling the rest of the day rained out.

Our final raised bed tally is three 5’ x 2 ½’ x 18" and one 10’ x1 ¼’ x 12".
